Japanese Club

Japanese writing

Our children have been learning Japanese with the help of our wonderful volunteer, Saeko Croft. They have been learning the numbers, colours, how to introduce themselves, days of the week, birthdays and recognising the alphabet in Japanese as they begin to write words down. They have learnt about Japanese culture including making origami objects tied in with Japanese traditions and the geography of Japan.  They have also played games such as bingo and have sung songs in Japanese.

The children are thoroughly enjoying learning Japanese and are becoming very confident; it has made us more linguistically and culturally aware. This continues the good work by our Year 4 children last year in Japanese club.

We would like to thank The Japan Foundation for their generous support.
