Uniform

The school is proud of its uniform and all children wear the school colours. We believe that smart uniform and appearance are very important. They provide our pupils with an identity and signal a belonging and commitment to our school community. They also reflect the high standards and expectations that we set throughout the school. We therefore insist that all pupils wear the correct and complete uniform, details of which are below.

Please ensure your child arrives ready for school correctly dressed in the correct uniform and that it is clean and in good repair. Please ensure all of your child’s belongings are clearly labelled.

Children need to wear the academy blazer, a navy jumper/cardigan (which can be plain or with the Harriers logo), grey skirt, shorts or trousers, white shirt and a school tie in years 1 to 6, white polo shirt and no tie in Early Years.

Clothing should be suitable for the weather including coats when cold or wet.

HAIRCUTS
Whilst we want children to be able to choose their hairstyle, we ask that it is not too extreme (no uneven/patterned shaving), with natural colours, simple and plain hair bands or bobbles.
All hair past the shoulder (girl’s or boy’s) must be tied up with a simple hair band or bobble.
If a child does not have one, then one will be provided.

Uniform and book bags may be purchased from Cross Embroidery (details below).

Watches and stud earrings (only one stud per ear) are the only jewellery permitted in school. These must be removed for PE and swimming. Children are responsible for looking after their own items and must be able to remove watches and earrings themselves.

It is at the Principal’s discretion that any hairstyle or item of clothing may be banned if deemed to be in breach of this policy.
