‘Dear Science Club for Girls,
We are writing to say congratulations! We are delighted to tell you that you have been nominated for an Oxfordshire Youth Award. Maxine Roberts has nominated you for the STEM Innovator Award.
This event is being organised by local charity, Oxfordshire Youth and we are a committee of young people who are working with the charity to produce a spectacular event for nominees.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, this year’s Oxfordshire Youth Awards will be on Wednesday 28th October 2020, 7pm. The event will be for virtual attendance only, and we will live-stream it on the Oxfordshire Youth website with kind support from our media partner Oxford Media Factory.
Please register via Eventbrite to get your free ticket and to receive a reminder with the link to the livestream prior to the event.
This event is our way of shining the light on all of the outstanding things that young people from the county do and we hope you feel proud of your nomination. We aim to honour all nominees and we think you all deserve public recognition and celebration which is why we have created a fun filled night with performances from exciting local acts for you to enjoy.

The Oxfordshire Youth Awards Committee’
The after-school club was launched two years ago to encourage girls to develop greater confidence about science and Mrs Roberts said it is having the desired effect.
She said: ‘’It’s really important that girls are involved in science. We have 20 girls who are members of the club and they are actively engaging with science after school and want to learn more.
“The girls love being able to make the decisions about what they do each week. Science is all around us, is a part of everyday life and this club allows them to see that.
‘’To be shortlisted makes me very proud of the girls and the club.’’
