OFSTED: GOOD
19th – 20th March 2024: Ofsted Inspection
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are pleased to share positive comments from our recent Ofsted inspection and celebrate that we continue to be a GOOD school. We are delighted that Ofsted recognises many of the positive things we do at Harriers for our pupils and that we are always striving to improve our outcomes for all of our pupils. The inspector identified strengths throughout our school and that we have the knowledge and capacity to improve the school even further. From here we continue on in our journey towards outstanding.
Here are some observations Ofsted made that we are particularly proud of:
‘This is a friendly and inclusive school where pupils are responsible, respectful and safe.’
‘The school has an ambitious and well sequenced curriculum starting from the early years.’
‘The school provides abundant opportunities to read, celebrate authors and explore a range of literature.’
‘Pupils are friendly, polite and calm.’
‘Pupils benefit from warm and kind relationships with staff, which mean that they know that they are safe and supported.’
‘Pupils, therefore, develop into highly responsible individuals who learn to think independently, with a deep sense of right and wrong.’
At this point we want to thank our brilliant team of staff who have consistently demonstrated their skill and passion, in particular throughout the Ofsted process, to provide an engaging education for your child(ren). Alongside this, we are so grateful for the support of our Governors and you, our parents/carers and the positive feedback you gave to Ofsted. Last, but certainly not least, we want to praise our wonderful pupils who shared their enthusiasm for learning and love of Harriers. They are the best advert for what we do!
